Once the spent fuel is removed from the reactor the fission process has stopped, but the spent fuel assemblies still generate significant amounts of radiation and heat and hence must be shipped in containers or casks that shield and contain the radioactivity and dissipate the heat. We have the capability and tie up's with technology partners to cater to such critical requirements.

Volume reduction of radioactive waste is one of the key issues and economic factors for repositories. Super-Compactors are used for reducing the volume of activated and contaminated waste such as core fittings, structural elements of fuel rods, and also low to mid-level radioactive waste.
Super compactors
Description
Cementation, through the use of specially formulated grouts provides a means to immobilise radioactive material that is in various forms of sludges and precipitates/gels (flocks) or activated materials, as well as fragmented solids. In general the solid wastes are placed into containers and the grout is then added into the container and allowed to set.

Neutron flux monitoring is a very important task when it comes to the operation of a nucelar plant. These are devices that can accurately monitor the nuclear reactor's power and its doubling time. The system consists of neutron flux detectors placed at the vicinity of the reactor and the system can be programmed to regularly monitor th flux and trigger alarms or emergencey shutdowns when the flux is too high or there are any rapid changes.

Description
Crawlers are robotic devces that are mounted on crawling tracks designed for both outdoor and indoor usage. The crawler base can be fitted with a wide variety of auxillary accessories such as high precision dositmeters for monitoring the radiation levels in a forest area near a recently decommissioned plant or it can be mounted with cameras for maintenance monitoring of the reactors thus allowing humans to be at a safe distance from the radiation zone.
Crawlers
Description
Manipulator arms are made of high grade radiation resistant materials and can be used with Hot cells for handling the irradiated equipment within the contained region or can be mounted on a crawler to carry out maintenance activies in radioactive zones.
Manipulator arms
Description
Underwater ROV's find their primary application in research reactors where the reactor core is placed deep inside a water pool. The ROV's and the cameras mounted over them are radiation resistant and hence can be used to study the core's radiation properties when it is operational.
Underwater ROV's
Description
HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filteration systems specially engineered filters that can trap 99.97% of 0.3 micron sized particles. These find applications in control room emergency breathing air supply, exhaust systems connected to containment vessels.
