Description

Hot cells are used to inspect spent nuclear fuel rods and to work with other items which are high-energy gamma ray emitters. We have the capability to safely dismantle and decommission such hot cells without causing any unprecedented radiation harm to the surroundings.

Hot cell dismantling

Description

Carrying out radiation monitoring and surveys in a perimeter around the decommissioned plant using approproate dosimters to ensure that there is no radiation present in the surroundings that can affect plant / animal / human life in any manner.

Radiation surveying

Description

For any nuclear plant decommissioning project, one of the important and critical procedure is to safely dispose the equipment that have been exposed to radiation. We carry ot these activities with utmost care and use methods such as Near Surface Disposal and Incinerators etc.

Irradiated equipment disposal

Description

Purpose built steel racks for safely storing the spent fuel. Borated stainless steel alloys are candidate neutron absorber materials for criticality control in disposal containers or dry storage canisters.

Borated steel racks

Description

Once the spent fuel is removed from the reactor the fission process has stopped, but the spent fuel assemblies still generate significant amounts of radiation and heat and hence must be shipped in containers or casks that shield and contain the radioactivity and dissipate the heat. We have the capability and tie up's with technology partners to cater to such critical requirements.

Spent fuel transportation casks

Description

Our technology tie ups with various global partners enables us to cater to any and every equipment required to handle the spent fuel canisters such as cranes, tansportation casks and vehicles, manipulators etc.

Spent fuel handling equipment

Description

Incinerators are built and deisgned to burn solid wastes such as used personal protective equipment (including gloves and overalls), construction materials (rags, wood, packing materials, paper, etc), as well as waste oil and spent resins etc.whcih have been exposed to radiation and hecne cannot be disposed to the environment directly.

Incinerators, pyrolysis

Description

Volume reduction of radioactive waste is one of the key issues and economic factors for repositories. Super-Compactors are used for reducing the volume of activated and contaminated waste such as core fittings, structural elements of fuel rods, and also low to mid-level radioactive waste.

Super compactors

Description

Cementation, through the use of specially formulated grouts provides a means to immobilise radioactive material that is in various forms of sludges and precipitates/gels (flocks) or activated materials, as well as fragmented solids. In general the solid wastes are placed into containers and the grout is then added into the container and allowed to set.

Cementation technologies

Description

Near Surface Disposal facilitiy is a purpose built and engineered underground cement mound near to the surface for disposal of lightly radioactive material. The walls of such facilities are made of thick specially engineered concrete mixtures to avoid any radiatoin seepage to the surroundings.

Near surface disposal

Description

Monitiring equipment for drums and canisters containing potentially radiactive waste. The Monitoring system is equipped with appropriate dosimeters, gamma ray monitors and spectrometers to analyse the waste within the drum.

Waste drum monitoring

Description

Neutron flux monitoring is a very important task when it comes to the operation of a nucelar plant. These are devices that can accurately monitor the nuclear reactor's power and its doubling time. The system consists of neutron flux detectors placed at the vicinity of the reactor and the system can be programmed to regularly monitor th flux and trigger alarms or emergencey shutdowns when the flux is too high or there are any rapid changes.

Neutron flux and Automated Radiation Monitoring systems

Description

Our range of containing monitoring systems purpose built in collaborationf with our global technlogy providers specifically for Indian Nuclear plants include a range of High presure steam leak detectors, radiaiton monitoring systems for pipeline and reactor halls and specially designed software customized to the clients' requirements.

Containment monitoring system

Description

Crawlers are robotic devces that are mounted on crawling tracks designed for both outdoor and indoor usage. The crawler base can be fitted with a wide variety of auxillary accessories such as high precision dositmeters for monitoring the radiation levels in a forest area near a recently decommissioned plant or it can be mounted with cameras for maintenance monitoring of the reactors thus allowing humans to be at a safe distance from the radiation zone.

Crawlers

Description

Manipulator arms are made of high grade radiation resistant materials and can be used with Hot cells for handling the irradiated equipment within the contained region or can be mounted on a crawler to carry out maintenance activies in radioactive zones.

Manipulator arms

Description

Underwater ROV's find their primary application in research reactors where the reactor core is placed deep inside a water pool. The ROV's and the cameras mounted over them are radiation resistant and hence can be used to study the core's radiation properties when it is operational.

Underwater ROV's

Description

HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filteration systems specially engineered filters that can trap 99.97% of 0.3 micron sized particles. These find applications in control room emergency breathing air supply, exhaust systems connected to containment vessels.

HEPA filters Banks

Description

Sunbbers are isolation devices used for isolating the mechanical motion and vibration of the woring equipment from the structure's foundation.

Hydraulic / Mechanical snubbers

Description

Chilling machines specific to the stringent requirements of the Indian Nuclear Industry. These chillers are manufactured as per strict quality assurance standrards for both safetya nd seismic categories.

Chillers (Safety Application)

Description

These are devices having electrically or mechanically actuated shutters that are used to control any pressure variation or shockwaves and are also used as a safety application in the ventilation channels of a Nuclear plant so as to permit flow of air in only the the intended direction.

Ventilation Channel Closing Devices (VChCD)

Description

Pressure variation & shockwave resistant dual side dampers for nuclear island ventilation systems.

Electrical Penetration Assembly

Description

Custom built power transformers for installation at Nuclear power plants for both transmittion of power to and from the Electrical grid.

HT Transformers

Description

Substations transform voltage from high to low, or the reverse, or perform any of several other important functions. Switchyards are substations without transformers and operating only at a single voltage level. Switching stations are sometimes used as collector and distribution stations and for switching the current to back-up lines or for parallelizing circuits in case of a failure.

Switchyards and substations

Description

High definition B&W / colour cameras that are used for research purposes in the Nuclear industry for monitoring the nuclear reaction within the reactor and to study the core's properties when under operation. Ther cameras are built using high grade radiation resistant materiala and can be customized depending upon the application.

Underwater and radiation resistant cameras

Description

Systems consisiting pf high precision gas detectors for monitring the hydrogen levels arounf the pipelines and other equipment. The system can be programmed to regularly monitor thehydrogen levels and trigger alarms or emergencey shutdowns when a set theshold is reached.

Hydrogen leak detection system

Description

Ultrasonic flowmeters are critical instruments used in the Nuclear industry primarily. Since the fluids are aunder very high pressure and are radioactive as well, it is not advised to make an incision in the pipe line. UFM's measuere flow using sound waves. These can be mounted on the pipes instead of insertion.

Ultrasonic steam flow meters

Description

These involve a cascade of equipment ranging from a host of sensors and monitors at various locations connected to a central monitoing control room, piping for carrying the fire retardant and storage fro the retardant. The system is programmed to incorporate multiple fail safes and backa up support and alarm triggers to ensure safety in case of a failure.

Automatic Fire Protection systems

Description

Transmitters and instrumentatin that are mounted on process line which handle radiation exposed fluids. The instruments are deisgned based on the radiation flux in the process line and are made of high grade materials for sustained working in the radioactive enviornment.

Radiation resistant transmitters

Description

For any nuclear plant, the communication system forms the backbone of the plant operation. We can cater to systems for field comunication from a central control room, remote monitoring, emergency and backup communication systems for coordination during failures etc.
